This tour includes nine days of travel throughout the best of Belize. Explore prehistoric caves, Mayan ruins, untamed jungle, and enjoy snorkeling and beach time on an island off the Caribbean coast in the second-largest barrier reef in the world.

Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Pooks Hill (D)
We will pick you up in the morning from either the Tikal area of Guatemala (if extending a Guatemala Trip) or from Belize City and transfer to the Belizean Rainforest area in the Cayo District. Guests coming from Tikal can stop off and explore the Mayan site at Xunantunich. Guests coming from the Belize International Airport can visit the zoo if time allows. (Pay entrance fees locally). Overnight at Pooks Hill Jungle Lodge or similar lodge.
Day 2: Actun Tunichmal Cave Trip
After breakfast, embark on a short jungle trek followed by a river cave exploration into the Maya Underworld - a cave used for ancient Maya rituals with many visible remains. For clients who do not feel up to this trip we can arrange a trip to canoe through the Barton Creek Cave. Overnight at Pooks Hill Jungle Lodge or similar lodge.
Day 3: Caracol (B,L)
After breakfast, travel on dirt roads through the pine forest region and down into the rainforest to the largest, most impressive Mayan Site in Belize . Caracol stands in beautiful rainforest scenery covering some 35 sq miles and with 36,000 structures marked so far. Overnight at Pooks Hill Jungle Lodge or similar lodge.
Day 4 & 5: Lamanai Riverside Jungle Lodge
After breakfast, travel to Belize City and then northwards to the New River where we board a boat and transfer along the river, encountering a rich variety of bird life and animalsindigenous to the area such as the river otter, turtles, crocodiles and monkeys. Overnight Lamanai Lodge. While staying at Lamanai you will be able to take part in the following tours: - Lamanai Ruins Tour - Herbal Medicine Walk - Spotlight River Safari - Free use of canoes to explore the river at any time.
Day 6: Transfer & Flight to San Pedro / Ambergris Caye Island
This morning you will travel to Belize City where you will board a small internal plane for the exciting flight to Ambergris Caye Island . Once at the island you go by boat up to the northern edge and to your beautiful island hotel. Free afternoon to relax. Overnight Salamander Hotel or similar hotel.
Day 7: Snorkeling & Free Time
This morning you will transfer by boat out to some of the famous snorkeling sites around Ambergris Caye Island for a half day snorkeling trip. Your afternoon is then free to relax, sunbathe, take Spa Treatments, (pay locally) etc. Overnight Salamander Hotel or similar hotel.
Day 8: Snorkeling & Free Time
This morning you will transfer by boat out to some of the famous snorkeling sites around Ambergris Caye Island for a half day snorkeling trip. Your afternoon is then free to relax, sunbathe, take Spa Treatments ,(pay locally) etc. Overnight Salamander Hotel or similar hotel.
Day 9: Transfer out
After breakfast we will transfer clients to San Pedro airport for their flight to the international airport in plenty of time to connect with their international flight out of Belize.
