Arriving in Mexico City
Yes it's really true. You don't have to take a bus to one of the many chaotic Mexico City bus stations to get to Cuernavaca. When you arrive in Mexico, simply head for the 'bus terminal' located in the main terminal (terminal 1) near 'puerta 7' Tickets can be purchased for travel to Cuernavaca, Puebla, Toluca, Queretaro, Pachuca & Toluca.
The airport bus terminal is located on the second level right next to the food court. Follow the signs to the ground transportation and walk across the enclosed bridge where you will see the counter where you can purchase tickets.
Buying tickets to Cuernavaca at the Airport

Buses run from Mexico City Airport to Cuernavaca from 6:40 AM to 12:30 AM approx. every half hour
Buses run from Cuernavaca to Mexico City Airport from 3:15 AM to 8:01 PM approx. every half hour
The trip takes about 2 hours. During rush hour it can take 30-40 min longer.

Once you purchase you ticket you will head straight to the boarding area (down the stairs) where you will pass through security (like entering a courthouse in the North America) and take your assigned seat.

These buses are nothing like riding Greyhound in the US. There are separate CLEAN restrooms for Men and Women. There are video screens that play the latest Hollywood movies with sound in English (subtitles in Spanish). There is an attendent on board that offers service (drinks and a snack) during your trip.
With comfort like this the short 2 hour ride is over before you know it. In addition the ride over the mountains to Cuernavaca is quite scenic!
When you return to Mexico City don't forget to ask your taxi driver to take you to the 'Casino' bus station. Each bus company has it's own station, so if you want to get the direct bus to the Mexico City Aiport you will need to get to Casino Staion in Cuernavaca. The station is located on the north end of town near the entrance to the toll road to Mexico City.
